A software application for audio and video conferencing. NetMeeting offers sharing of desktop video, audio, chat and file transfer functionality.
Or

A product developed by Microsoft Corporation that enables groups to teleconference using the Internet.




* Features:

Share applications during a conference with one or more NetMeeting users.
Easy to use and free.
Use graphic information exchange during NetMeeting .
Conduct conversations via text with one or more.
Conduct real video and audio conferencing.
One-on-one conversations


* Limitations
Some time the connection lost in the conversation.
Computer requirements.
Users must trade-off between faster video performance and better image quality.
Very limited for a large virtual classroom lecture or group meeting.
Cannot work in different systems operators.

To support discussion between teacher-student and student-student.

national programme on technology enhanced learning




Short Description:
National Program on Technology Enhanced learning is an Indian Program funded by the Ministry of Human Recourse development majorly developed to enhance the quality of engineering education in the country by developing curriculum based video and web courses



Courses are organized and uploaded in YouTube as playlists and the courses are in the following topics:

1. Core Sciences
2. Civil Engineering

3. Computer Science and Engineering

4. Electrical Engineering
5. Electronics and Communication Engineering

6. Mechanical Engineering

The University of Atlanta as a distance education provider

About the University:

University of Atlanta is a private University located in Atlanta
(Capital City of Georgia state in U.S) and it was established in 1991 and
counted as distinctive University as it provide high quality distance education
and the university is a member of European Association for Distance Learning (EADL)


University of Atlanta Programs :

The University have variety of programs for both graduate and

undergraduate students


Some Important policies & regulations of the University:

Atlanta University has different policies which enhance the

organizational system in the university and help student to be more aware of

their programs , courses , grades ... etc and these policies include :

  • Student Kit
    includes a summary of transfer credit awarded (if any) and required
  • courses for program completion. The student is provided contact information for
    the University and a Learn Center Tour and Student kit also includes some
    helpful steps which helps the student success in his academic progress.


  • Transcripts
  • University sends grades information and reports by the online
    delivery system via E-Mail . Student can also request a Transcript anytime he
    want but this will cost him about 25$ per request .




Support :

University of Atlanta provide different kind of Online support the most important once are Learn Center & Chat . Learn Center is an online center for the students and in includes all the important stuffs which the student need such as ; Course Syllabus , assignment-related specifics and suggestions, links to supplementary resources; examinatons and instructional guidelines and Learn Center also includes communication applications like message boards where student can ask for a help from the teacher and so on and Learn Center also include "The Virtual Campus" where student can communicate with any university stuff including administrators.

Second way of the University to provide support is chat as the University site include online quick access chat available to everyone not only for students , as students are advised to use Learn Center.

Cost:


The University of Atlanta charges tuition based on the number of required courses a student must successfully complete in order to earn his or her degree. Courses are charged at the rate of:


BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE (UNDERGRADUATE): $350.00 per three-credit or nine-credit Undergraduate course. (Bachelor degree = 120 credits or 36 courses = 34 courses at 3-credits each, 2 courses at 9 credits each.) Total program cost for Bachelor of Science degree program (36 courses, 120 credits) = $12,600 (This total is equal to a four-year university degree.) Special Note: A variety of payment plan options are available to all students.

MASTER OF SCIENCE DEGREE (GRADUATE): $900.00 per three-credit Graduate course. Total program cost for Master of Science degree program (12 courses, 36 credits) = $10,800, Special Notes (1) Three advanced, specialized graduate programs are charged at different rates: see below. (2) A variety of payment plan options are available to all students.



Technology System & interaction

Atlanta University require the student who need to learn Online to meet some requirement these requirement includes Good Computer with Windows XP or higher installed and uploaded with Microsoft Office package and of course student must have a good internet connection to be able to access all the materials on the web.

Type of interaction :

University of Atlanta provide different types of interaction and these types include the followings:

1. Virtual Campus:

just like a normal University campus include everything which a university has like classes, offices, bookstores where student can buy books, and it also include communication system as student can interact with stuffs in offices or bookstores and so on but this Campus in Virtual which mean Online (Not a Real Campus but represent the real one.

2. Virtual Class room:

Like normal Classes but this one is online and it provide communication system where teacher can teach a lesson and the student can learn and also can interact with the teacher and the student in the Virtual Classroom. The only different between this and normal classroom is the student can't see each other.

3. Chat:

Normal Chat include an environment for instant messaging where both student and teacher can interact with each other, Chat rooms are best for discussions but not that much good for explaining new concepts to the student.

4. E-Mail:

E-mail is normal communication system which can be delivered to the student while he is offline and he can see the message and replay anytime he wants and e-mail does not include only test messages as it also include files , videos and sounds as an attachment files.

5. E-Global Library:

Online Library helps student in their researches and complementation of their assignments as it includes books, journals and articles.
